photo (2)Is this the cutest carriage ever?  You can’t see the side, but the wheels are orange slices with red grape hubcabs! You hollow out the watermelon and cut it in shape of carriage.  I chose to do serrated edging, but that’s optional. Then you round out a cantaloupe for the baby’s head, grapes for eyes, blueberry for nose and a pacifier for the mouth.  I put fresh strawberries, blueberries and grapes in the center, and used the removed watermelon along with more cantaloupe as a side dish too!

I made the watermelon carriage for my daughter-in-law’s baby shower.  It was pretty easy and a huge hit.  I believe it got the most comments, excepting my daughter’s homemade cake below … both were very tasty too!
